Biography
Ernest was born at Crich in 1881. His father, was foreman at the local gritstone quarries and was killed in a railway accident in 1898. Before the war Ernest was employed as a stone mason. After his demob he lived in Glossop and worked for a time as a general labourer. He married Ethel Willis in 1934, but sadly his wife passed away shortly afterwards.

Ernest's brother Frank Wass and nephew Robert Wass are also on the Roll of Honour.
