William, an unmarried gardener, born at Crich but living at Holloway, enlisted in 1915 and was mobilised in 1916. July 1918 saw him in the Military Hospital Lancaster with influenza. He was demobbed to Crich in 1919 and married Nora Wardley in 1924. He worked as a lorry driver.
William enlisted on 11 December 1915 and was mobilized on 3 April 1916 aged 18 years and 5 months, an unmarried gardener living at Holloway, Derbyshire. He was recorded as being C of E and born at Crich. His father was named as William Fox. The address for his pay was c/o Mrs Poyser, Near Cross, Crich. He was demobbed to Crich in March 1919.
