Ernest Dixon

Biography
Ernest, born on 26th November 1896, was a wireworker at Johnson and Nephew, the son of Robert and Sarah Dixon. His father was a foreman at the works. He enlisted on 11th December 1915 to the Royal Field Artillery but was transferred into the Royal Garrison Artillery 182 Siege Battery. After demob he worked for many years at Ambergate brickworks, then later as a railway platelayer. He married Nellie Kelk in the September quarter of 1926 in the Beper Reg. District. He died on 27 July 1952.
