A younger brother of Ernest Allen Walter was born at Crich and raised at Sawmills. He was not listed on the original WW1 Roll in St Mary’s, Crich, but was listed on a published roll of honour for Ambergate wireworks, as serving with the 5th Foresters. He was also listed on a roll of serving Crich men published in the Belper News and Derbyshire Telephone in Nov 1914. He married Hannah Sheldon in the June qtr of 1917 (Belper Reg district) and they had a family.

Walter on the Wireworks Roll of Honour.

His brother Ernest Allen is also on the Roll of Honour.
