“Since last magazine we understand that Lieut R. H. Middleditch has left for the front. We believe that, except Lt Henry Hurt, all those who have joined the forces from Alderwasley are still in England. May they be in God’s keeping now and always.”
Robert Henry Middleditch served with the 2nd Battalion of the Yorkshire Regiment rising to the rank of Captain. He was an early volunteer serving from October 1914. He was for a time the Officer Commanding Interned Prisoners of War in Switzerland.
A death was registered in 1937 of Robert H Middleditch at Gloucester. Was it this Robert?
